Born in 1897 at Marton, baptised on the 14th August 1897, Frank was the son of Samuel and Annie Brocklehurst, Samuel was a wheelwright, in 1901 the family lived at The Post Office, Marton. In 1911 they were still living in Marton, the census lists Frank age 13 at school, Samuel and Annie had seven children, sadly one had died. They also had one servant.

Frank enlisted at Congleton and was posted to the Worgret Camp, Wareham, Dorsetshire, a very large Territorial training camp. He is recorded as having died here on 10th October 1918. The Wareham Military Hospital was at Worgret Camp a facility with 185 beds.

Frank didn’t serve abroad and as such was not entitled to any medals, his body was brought back to Marton where he was buried.
